Photo Diode Arrays by TAOS

TAOS (Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions) produces a series of photo diode arrays by TEXAS INSTRUMENTS. The sensors are easy to handle, since only a single supply voltage is needed. Further all clock signals are TTL compatible and there is no complicated timing necessary.

Available are also sensors with a smaller pixel number, which provides a high line frequency. Further there are longer sensors, which are internally made of several smaller sensors.

All photo diode arrays by TAOS are available in smaller volumes directly from our stock. For many sensors there we can also deliver an evaluation board.

These products are often used in OCR card readers (e.g. for scanning text on Eurocheck cards or documents). You can find closer details about this in our application note about OCR reading units.

Explanation about Pitch The pitches indicated in the table contain a space between the and the pixel width. Therefore, the inter-pixel-distance can be calculated by subtracting the pixel width from the pitch. The total length of the line can be calculated by multiplying the pixel number with the pitch.
